DOG TUFF™ Grass 70 Count Plug Tray

Each Tray will spread to cover 48 square feet at the recommended 10 inch spacing.

Planting times

Summer is the best time to plant as DOG TUFF™ Grass loves the heat! It can be planted around your last frost date, or about 3 weeks before Night time low temps average about 50 degrees F. 

DOG TUFF™ Grass is an incredible low growing turf that requires a fraction of the water compared to Kentucky Bluegrass. Cold hardy down to at least USDA zone 5 it is a great grass for dry northern climates or the arid southwest. It is a very fine strain related to Bermuda grass that has thin and soft leaves which are loved by both dogs and bare feet! It is a warm season grass which means it wakes up later than bluegrass, but thrives during the middle of summer. DOG TUFF™ Grass is unique in that it will not pollinate itself or go to seed. For this reason it takes special propagation by hand and only comes in 70 count plug trays. These plugs are planted spaced apart and will fill in to form a dense vibrant turf.   Does very well exposed, and grows great between sidewalks and streets in the notorious and hard to maintain "Hell strips".
